Introduction

The course is based on the book by Ash Maurya "Running Lean: Iterate from plan A to a plan that works" and https://www.leanfoundry.com/

In particular we will focus on

  • PART I:DESIGN
  • PART II: VALIDATION.

Due to the limited time of the course, we will only marginally consider PART III: GROWTH.

The exam

Individual assignments (typically three):

  1. Introduce yourself in a measurable way.
  2. Present your favourite startup from Y Combinator and explain why you find it compelling.
  3. Identify and present a startup that has emerged from a research group at Sapienza.

Group project: building a startup.

The method is more important than the idea itself: a fantastic idea that has not been properly validated has marginal value. The goal is therefore to learn how to identify a problem, formulate hypotheses, test them with real users, gather evidence, and iteratively refine the business idea.
